چکیده

2014 Intrinsic viscosity measurements have been performed on polystyrene-cyclohexane system as a function of temperature T (T ~ 03B8 and as a function of molecular weight (8.2 x 104 ~ Mw ~ 2.06 x 107) .The expansion factor 03B13~ = [~]/[~03B8] of the intrinsic viscosity [~] scales with the reduced variable (T 2014 03B8/T) · ~Mw. For (T201403B8/T) ” ~Mw ~ 2014 40, the intrinsic viscosity of a collapsed macromolecule is found to be independent of molecular weight A value 03BD = 1/3 is therefore given to the index relating size to molecular weight. Rheological properties of suspensions of thermo-responsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) microgels undergoing volume phase transition

The rheological properties of suspensions of thermo-responsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) microgels are investigated in the swollen and collapsed states using oscillatory and long-time creep measurements. In the swollen state with repulsive interparticle interaction, the zero shear viscosity and quasi-plateau modulus are solely governed by the effective volume fraction (φeff) and are ...

Polymers in crowded environment under stretching force: Globule-coil transitions.

We study flexible polymer macromolecules in a crowded (porous) environment, modeling them as self-attracting self-avoiding walks on site-diluted percolative lattices in space dimensions d=2,3 . The influence of stretching force on the polymer folding and the properties of globule-coil transitions are analyzed. Applying the pruned-enriched Rosenbluth chain-growth method, we estimate the transiti...

Relaxation Times of Flexible Polymer Chains in Solution from Non- Conventional Viscosity Measurements

This work is devoted to the study of the viscosity and relaxation of flexible polymer chains in dilute solutions. Our aim was to determine the relation between the intrinsic viscosity and the relaxation times of the polymer internal normal modes within the bead-spring approach. In the theoretical part we generalize the Zimm theory of the polymer dynamics by taking into account the permeability ...

Intrinsic Viscosity Determination by “Single-Point” and “Double-Point” Equations

With rheology progress was made in understanding of structure of gels and colloidal suspensions, particularly with regard to polysaccharides and large glyconjugates. Whereas the rheology of concentrated dispersions is the considerable interest to the colloidal scientist, pharmacist or food technologist [1], of more interest to molecular biophysicist is dilute solution viscometry and the structu...

Dynamics of polymer θ - solutions in the dilute - semidilute transition region

2014 Rheological and diffusional properties of a polymer theta-solution are considered on the basis of novel theoretical approach. The effect of topological constraints on the dynamics of the system in the dilutesemidilute transition region is studied. In particular it is shown that (i) the relative viscosity, ~r of the solution increases according to the law ~r ~ N1.5 (C/C* 1)6, 0 C/C* 1 ~ 1, ...
